Terms of Use

<Minerva Edu Co., Ltd.> has established and disclosed the following personal information handling guidelines to protect the personal information of data subjects in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act and to promptly and smoothly handle related grievances.

[Chapter 1 General Provisions]
  1. Article 1 (Purpose)
  2. The purpose of these terms is to stipulate the conditions and procedures for using the Internet community services (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") provided by Minerva Edu in accordance with the Telecommunications Business Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
  1. Article 2 (Notification and Application of Terms)
  2. ① The contents of these terms take effect when posted on the service screen or notified to members by other means.
  3. ② The Company may change these terms at its discretion, and the changed terms take effect when notified in the same manner as in Paragraph 1.
  1. Article 3 (Rules Not Specified in Terms)
  2. Matters not specified in these terms are governed by the Telecommunications Basic Act, Telecommunications Business Act, Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and other related laws and regulations.
  1. Article 4 (Definition of Terms)
  2. The definitions of terms used in these terms are as follows:

  3. ① Member: a person who has concluded a service use contract with the Company and is assigned a user ID
  4. ② ID: a combination of letters and numbers selected by the member and approved by the Company for member identification and service use
  5. ③ Password: a combination of letters and numbers set by the member for privacy protection
  6. ④ Administrator: a person designated by the Company to manage and operate the service smoothly
  7. ⑤ Termination: the cancellation of the service use contract by the Company or the member after service activation
[Chapter 2 Service Use Agreement]
  1. Article 5 (Formation of Use Agreement)
  2. ① When a member clicks the "Agree" button in response to the question "Do you agree to the above terms to apply for the service?", it is considered that the member agrees to these terms.
  3. ② The use agreement is formed when the Company approves the member’s application after review.
  1. Article 6 (Application for Use)
  2. ① Applications for use are submitted online by filling out the Company’s prescribed application form.
  3. ② All information provided in the online application is considered true. Users who do not enter their real name or actual information may not receive legal protection and may face service limitations.
  1. Article 7 (Consent to Use Member Information)
  2. ① The Company's Privacy Policy applies to members’ personal information.
  3. ② Personal information requested from members in accordance with Article 6 is used to fulfill this use agreement and provide the service.
  4. ③ Member information may be provided to partners for convenient service usage. The Company must notify members of the partner, purpose, and information provided and obtain consent before sharing.
  5. ④ Members can view and modify personal information anytime through their profile.
  6. ⑤ By entering personal information and applying under these terms, members are deemed to consent to the collection, use, and provision of such information by the Company.
  1. Article 8 (Acceptance of Application)
  2. ① The Company may approve applications if all required information is correctly provided, except in certain cases.
  3. ② The Company may temporarily withhold approval in the following cases:
    1. A. Lack of system capacity
    2. B. Technical difficulties
    3. C. Other reasons making approval difficult
  4. ③ The Company may refuse applications in the following cases:
    1. A. Name is not real
    2. B. Application using another person's identity
    3. C. Submission of false information
    4. D. Intent to disturb public order or morals
    5. E. Other missing application requirements
  1. Article 9 (Changes to Contract Information)
  2. Members must update any changes to information provided during application online. Members are responsible for issues caused by failure to update.
[Chapter 3 Obligations of Contracting Parties]
  1. Article 10 (Company’s Obligations)
  2. ① The Company shall not disclose or distribute members’ personal information to third parties without consent, except as required by law, investigative purposes, requests by the Korea Communications Ethics Commission, or other legal procedures.
  3. ② Within the scope of ①, the Company may use statistics based on members’ personal information and send cookies to members’ computers. Members can refuse cookies via browser settings.
  1. Article 11 (Member’s Obligations)
  2. ① Members shall not:
    1. A. Use another member’s ID illegitimately
    2. B. Copy or distribute information from the service without approval
    3. C. Infringe on copyrights or other rights
    4. D. Distribute content violating public order or morals
    5. E. Engage in acts objectively linked to crimes
    6. F. Violate related laws
  3. ② Members must comply with these terms, service guidelines, and notices.
  4. ③ Members must follow restrictions announced by the Company on a content-by-content basis.
  5. ④ Members cannot use the service for business without approval. Members are responsible for damages caused by unauthorized business activity.
  6. ⑤ Members cannot transfer or pledge service rights or contract positions without explicit consent.
[Chapter 4 Service Use]
  1. Article 12 (Member ID and Password Management)
  2. ① Members are responsible for managing their ID and password. Any consequences from misuse are the member’s responsibility.
  3. ② Members must notify the Company if their ID is used illegitimately.
  1. Article 13 (Member Homepage Obligations)
  2. ① Members shall not upload content violating public order, morals, or others’ rights. Responsibility lies with the member.
  3. ② Members must manage and back up their homepage responsibly.
  1. Article 14 (Provision of Information)
  2. The Company may provide necessary information via email or mail. Members may opt out through application or profile menus.
  1. Article 15 (Member Posts)
  2. The Company may delete posts without notice if they:
  3. ① Defame other members or third parties ② Violate public order or morals
  4. ③ Are linked to criminal acts
  5. ④ Infringe copyrights
  6. ⑤ Exceed posting period
  7. ⑥ Include pornography or link to pornographic sites
  8. ⑦ Violate laws
  1. Article 16 (Copyright of Posts)
  2. ① Authors hold rights and responsibility. The Company will not use posts commercially without consent, except non-profit. The Company retains posting rights.
  3. ② Members cannot commercially use information from the service.
  1. Article 17 (Service Hours)
  2. ① Service is available 24/7 unless technical issues arise. Exceptions occur during scheduled maintenance.
  3. ② The Company may divide service use times and notify members in advance.
  1. Article 18 (Responsibility for Service Use)
  2. Members may not use the service for illegal business, hacking, advertising, pornographic sites, or software piracy. The Company is not responsible for related losses or legal actions.
  1. Article 19 (Suspension of Service)
  2. ① The Company may suspend service for maintenance, telecommunication interruptions, or force majeure.
  3. ② In emergencies, power outages, equipment failures, or excessive usage, service may be limited or suspended.
[Chapter 5 Termination and Restrictions]
  1. Article 20 (Termination and Restriction of Use)
  2. ① Members wishing to terminate the agreement must apply online.

  3. ② The Company may terminate or suspend service without notice if members:
  4. a. Use others’ IDs or passwords
  5. b. Intentionally disrupt operations
  6. c. Use a false name
  7. d. Register multiple IDs
  8. e. Spread content harming public order or morals
  9. f. Plan or execute actions harming national or public interest
  10. g. Damage reputation of others
  11. h. Send excessive or advertising information disrupting service
  12. i. Spread viruses or malware
  13. j. Infringe intellectual property rights
  14. k. Violate orders from regulatory authorities
  15. l. Illegitimately use personal information
  16. m. Copy or distribute information without approval
  17. n. Post pornography or links to porn sites
  18. o. Violate other conditions set by the Company
[Chapter 6 Compensation and Liability]
  1. Article 21 (Compensation)
  2. The Company is not responsible for any damages to members during free service usage unless caused intentionally or negligently by the Company.
  1. Article 22 (Disclaimer)
  2. ① The Company is exempt from liability for service interruption due to natural disasters or force majeure.
  3. ② The Company is not liable for service issues caused by the member.
  4. ③ The Company is not responsible for lost profits or damages from materials obtained through the service.
  5. ④ The Company is not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of information posted by members.
  1. Article 23 (Jurisdiction)
  2. Any litigation arising from service usage will be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the court where the Company’s headquarters are located. [Enforcement Date] These terms are effective from May 24, 2021.
